“There is no such thing as a linear system. There are only degrees of regeneration or degradation within Earth’s circular system“
- Joss Whipple
My studio is part of a slow fashion and textile collective called Pole Couture on the outskirts of the famous art village of Carla Bayle, one hour south from Toulouse, France.
I work primarily with antique, vintage and French grown linen and hemp because these materials meet all my aesthetic and sustainability criteria and enable me to put into practice my principles.
My work is not just to make things and sell them, my studio is also a place where people of all ages and walks of life can connect with textiles practice, find confidence and be inspired to be a part of the global solution against textiles waste and over consumption, by making things themselves.
I am registered in the Chambre de Metiers’s repairer’s directory and I offer a popular mending, alterations and custom project service to my local community.
I am part of a wider local community of individuals and enterprises who share these ideals and who are quietly offering real options for every day people to take action against fashion over consumption and waste.
My suppliers are local ressourceries, individual second-hand sellers as well as specialist weavers, such as Tissage d’Autan who are creating fabrics from regenerative French grown linen and hemp fibre. I also collaborate on projects with the other artisans engaged in our collective studio.
