Kimono House Robe 005 is dyed with pomegranate skins and a soya milk mordant. The main fabric is a buttery soft pure linen damask, facings are vintage pure linen napkins hand embroidered with flowers. The sleeves are also pure linen with hand embroidered ‘des jours’ edging. The pockets are trimmed with a soft velvet ribbon. This piece also comes with its own special sachet of mending materials.
Inspired by the classic kimono shape and the European arts and crafts movement, my house robes are designed for comfort and grace. Each piece is totally unique and hand stitched from precious antique and vintage pure linen cut work and embroidered household textiles, mainly French turn of the century. Wearing these pieces often means wearing hours of skill full hand work, creativity and the thread of connection to an era steeped in craft, done by women, for the grace of their homes.
