Kimono Inspired House Robe 004

Inspired by the classic kimono shape and the european arts and crafts movement, my house robes are designed for grace. Each piece is totally unique and hand stitched from precious antique and vintage pure linen cut work and embroidered household textiles, mainly French turn of the centurary. Wearing these pieces often means wearing hours of skillfull hand work, creativity and the thread of connection to an era steeped in craft, done by women, for the grace of thier homes.

House Robe 004 is made from a buttery soft drape 100% linen which Ive faced with a vintage viscose japanese print scarf and embroidered handkerchiefs with the initials ‘CE’. The sleeves are very special made from a single piece of antique hand embroidered cotton, featuring, cutwork, brodery anglaise, pulled work and applique. The right hand packet is trimmed with upcycled sari silk and the vintage button finishes the piece off. I’ve hand dyed the individual textiles in a dusky lip colour.
