The Kimono Jacket is a universal style for ultimate, comfort, elegance and function. Each piece is totally unique, some have pockets, some do not, all are cut using a zero waste technique most are hand finished. These pieces are also unisex and ideal for sharing (yes buying to share is a thing).
Kimono Jacket 002 is the one piece, in the collection that I’d choose if I was keeping something for myself! At every stage of the process from the original selection. of the antique table cloth to the finished project this piece has revealed itself to be truly special. It’s a lovely dense mid weight super drapey, plain weave, pure antique linen, edged all around with simple ‘Le jours’ borders and then a very unique central emblem. Myself and many others think that the emblem is likely from Madagascar or another African country as it is very un french, being asymmetric and not floral or geometric. It looks like a rising or setting sun. In any case it’s very unusual. I was further impressed and surprised by this piece when I dyed it, using an alum mordant and pomegranate skins with iron which resulted in this gorgeous dark greenish ochre shade. I trimmed it with white shot silk, mostly hand stitched. Voila - I can’t wait to see who this piece is for.
